The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is a volunteer-based emergency and rescue organisation dedicated to protecting communities across NSW. Established in 1955, NSW SES is the lead agency for flood, storm, and tsunami response. With over 11,000 trained members and more than 260 volunteer units, the service operates 24/7 to provide critical assistance during natural disasters and emergencies. Our members also support general rescue operations in rural areas, including road accident rescue, vertical rescue, and bush search and rescue. NSW SES works closely with local communities to enhance preparedness and resilience ahead of floods and storms.
